    Podcast #1….loved it.
Vitamin D deficiency….I do 3,000 IUs of D-3 over the counter (when I remember to take them) daily. Blood work always shows my D levels are low. I used to do a 50,000 pill once a week, but my face broke out so I went back to the over the counter. Could the outbreak have been from the high dose? I was prescribed a waffer in lieu of the pill, but I never tried that.

Taking the 3000 IU daily should ultimately recharge vitamin D levels. Check levels every 4 months for awhile. If the levels do not increase consider changing to a different–food based version of vitamin D such as Cataplex D made by standard process. (Call 361-387-3500 if you want to try that version). 50,000 IU is not a physiologic dosage of Vitamin D. I’ve read experts in nutritional fields reporting that actually causes more harm than good. I tend to agree. Nowhere in nature would you get a “Jolt” of 50000 IU—WEEKLY. Keep in mind the liver and kidney are highly important in the processing of active Vitamin D. Depending on which test is being run, you may show low because of kidney or liver issues. I suspect this is part of the problem in diabetics always running low on vitamin d… Thanks for the feedback on the podcast. I hope you will share with others!
